Abstract
Obesity is much more than a number on the scale or a body mass index: it is the result of complex hormonal, genetic, psychological, and social interactions, and unfortunately carries a stigma as heavy as the extra pounds themselves. Until recently, therapeutic options amounted to advice to “eat better” and “move more,” often underpinned by willpower rhetoric that left most patients feeling like they hadn’t done enough. Today, molecules such as semaglutide and tirzepatide have emerged as reliable options, capable of reducing more than 15% of body weight while delivering solid metabolic and cardiovascular benefits.
