Abstract
Introduction: GeSIDA has developed stratification tools based on profile and complexity to standardize the care offered to HIV patients. The Servizo Galego de Saúde (SERGAS) uses an automated system based on the Kaiser pyramid to stratify patients by complexity.
The objective is to compare both complexity classification tools in a cohort of HIV patients to assess their concordance.
Method: A retrospective study of 411 patients in the EOXI of Lugo-Cervo-Monforte. Clinical, social, and demographic data were collected, applying both scales and evaluating concordance using Cohen's kappa coefficient.
Results: The concordance between the GeSIDA and SERGAS scales was low (κ=0.116).
Discussion: The automated tool used by SERGAS classifies patients differently from GeSIDA's tool, making it unsuitable for HIV patients.
